  • Are your teachers experienced? Are they native speakers?
Yes, as well as being qualified, native, English teachers, they are fully experienced and trained to teach our courses and methods with fun and energy. The majority of our teachers are from UK, USA or Ireland.
  • Do you offer trial lessons?
Yes, we do - You're welcome to try any of our lessons before you commit to a course or block. If you decide to continue with us, the trial lesson is included within your paid course fee (schools, theatre), or your block of private lessons. If not, there is no charge.
  • What materials do you use?
It depends on the type of course (individual, group, school etc..) and also the needs of the student. However, we have designed a comprehensive curriculum for children aged 3-15 that can be used and adapted for most levels and circumstances. You can see some of our coursebooks here: If your child is a higher than typical level, our teachers are fully expereienced to create lesson plans to suit their needs.
  • I don't see any courses offered at your location - Only home - Why is that?
We have our regular kindergarten & theatre courses, typically on Saturdays - You can find the information here: Saturday Kindergarten groups (Ages 3-6) Saturday Theatre (Ages 7-11) Saturday Theatre (Ages 11-16) We don't offer any additional courses at our location, simply because we want to offer the best quality lessons to our customers - It's difficult to put groups together of the correct age and English ability, on a specific day/time - We don't want to have mixed age & ability class that is simply no good for anyone! You also have the option to have small group courses at your home - We typically have groups of 3-6 children, and again this is a far more effective way to learn English. Small groups at home (Ages 3-6) Small groups at home (Ages 6-11) The majority of our groups courses are offered directly at kindergarten, or schools during Hort time - We divide these into the correct class ages, and this ensures we have quality courses, teaching the right levels - If you'd like more information about these, let us know, or you can find out more here: Courses for your Kindergarten Courses for your Volksschule/Hort English Project Weeks for NMS/Gymnasium English Film/Theatre Weeks for Oberstufe
  • Can you teach an English course at my son/daughter's school/hort/kindergarten?
Yes! The majority of our courses are taught directly during Hort time! (or during kindergarten) We also have special English project weeks for schools as well -- More info here: Courses for your KindergartenCourses for your Volksschule/HortEnglish Project Weeks for NMS/GymnasiumEnglish Film/Theatre Weeks for Oberstufe Just send us a message, and we'll explain exactly how these can be done. It's very simple!
  • How do we pay for your courses/lessons?
The most straightforward way to pay is by bank transfer. Kreativ English: AT082011182968662900 We will send you an invoice confirming the course/lesson block fee, which will have all the payment details attached to it - For some of courses (Theatre, Summer Camps, Trial lessons), these can be paid directly online here: Book online
  • Do you speak German (or any other language) during the classes/lessons?
Our courses are taught completely in English, from the very first word, to the last. They focus on natural language learning through activities, projects & games, and the best way for the children to learn is by being immersed in the language. Even if your child speaks no English, actions, games and repeated functional language from the teacher gets picked up rapidly.
  • During my course/block of lessons, what happens if I need to cancel one?"
If you need to cancel your lesson, we require at least 24 hours notice. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will need to be charged, and a lesson will be taken off your block. This is because we still need to pay our teachers who will have already prepared their lessons and would also not be able to teach another lesson due to the short notice. Thank you for your understanding of this matter.
  • What happens if my son/daughter misses one of a group class?
Our group courses (at schools & our locations) are a fixed number of weeks - If your son/daugther misses a week, the course continues - There are no refunds, or additional lessons added at the end of the course. This is simply because it is not practical for different students to be finishing group courses at different times - They are a fixed duration.
  • What happens is you (Kreativ English) cancel a class?
In this situation, the lesson/class will simply be added to the end of the block/course. You will not miss any lessons.
  • Summer camps - Where do your camps take place?
We have small groups in many districts across Vienna - The exact available spaces are changing everyday, so it's best to send us an email and we'll let you know what spaces we have available! Contact us
  • Summer Camps - Do your camps include lunch?
Yes, all our full day camps include a light lunch, snacks & drinks. If your son/daughter has special dietary requirements (e.g. vegetarian, allergies) please let us know, and we'll try our best to accommodate their needs.
  • Summer Camps - What happens if I want to cancel my camp registration?
You're free to cancel your son/daughter's camp registration at anytime. However, if it is cancelled 3 weeks, or less, before the camp start date, there will be no refund. This is simply because it leaves us very little time to find a replacement for your specific camp and location.
  • Summer Camps - What happens if Kreativ English cancel the camp?
If we cancel the camp, for any reason, you will receive a full refund.
  • Summer Camps - Does my son/daughter need to have any English knowledge?
No, the camps are designed to learn through immersion. The focus is on speaking, learning and using English in a natural environment through games and activities. All abilities are able to take something from our camps, whether they are good speakers, or complete beginners.

  • Where are your teachers from?
All our teachers are native English speakers. They are typically from UK, USA & Ireland.
  • What course material do you use?
We have created a varied program for each age group - We have 7 completely different courses that are suitable for all levels and abilities. These weeks are perfectly fine for all classes of Volksschule. There is no repeated material if they take our courses each year. You can flick through our course material here: Our course material They cover a variety of language & topics based around our star characters!
  • A full week is too long for our students -- Do you offer shorter courses?
Yes we do! There are a few different options - Full week - Half days One of the most popular is to split one class into two groups (e.g. 12/13 students in each) - Each group has 3 lessons each day rather than a full day - (e.g. Group 1 take lessons 1-3, and group 2 takes lessons 4-6) The group that is not having English remains with their classroom teacher and doesn't miss too much of the regular school lessons. It's a good balance between having something a little different with us, without compromising too much on lessons missed during a semester. Shorter weeks - 3 or 4 days long This can also be done in two groups as above, but also as 6 lessons each day, but for only 3 or 4 days - Feel free to give us a call on 019692301 / 06649325664 or message us direcly here: Contact us
  • Are these weeks going to be too difficult for younger children?
Not at all! Primary school children are like sponges when picking up new languages. The first day can be a little daunting, but after that they really love it, and can't wait for our fun lessons, as well as creating and performing a show at the end! Also, for the youngest students we also offer half day courses if this is something you'd prefer - You can find more info in the 'A full week is too long....' question above.
  • Can you tailor a course for our needs?
Yes we can! We have core programs, but feel free to let us know what you need! If it's more sport, cooking, extra crafts, or specific topics, we're happy to help! All our courses can be adapted to suit exactly what you would like. Feel free to give us a call on 019692301 / 06649325664 to have a chat further!

  • What happens if a student is ill during a project week
It depends on the length of the course, and how long the student is sick. If a student can't attend the course at all, we offer a full refund. For 4 day courses: If a student attends 2 days or more, there is no refund -- for students who only manage to attend 1 day, we will refund the course fee pro rata to how many days they've attended. • How do your Film/Theatre Project weeks work?
There are a few different options: Full weeks - You can have a full project week of only Film or Theatre ---- You also have the option to have a mix of both Film & Theatre during one week - (Both options end with a presentation and show of what has been created during the week) Shorter Workshops - If your school schedule is short on time, you can have a 3 or 4 day workshop in either Film or Theatre - Details of the courses below, and also here: Film & Theatre Project Weeks Film During the week, your students will learn filming & editing techniques, how to set up shots for different effects, as well as completing short filming projects of set scenes, before creating their own short film – (this can all be done with mobile phones and the various editing software available – we bring other necessary equipment such as tripods -) They also learn to storyboard their film, as well as creating simple scripts for the filming itself. Theatre On the theatre side, our teachers guide them with loads of acting games, performance of short sketches, learning how to create storylines, how to act on film, as well as a strong focus on improvisation to really get them working their English! Our is aim is to really get your students talking and using English in the most natural way. They are challenging, but massively rewarding.
  • Can classes 1-4 (unterstufe) also take the Film/Theatre project weeks?
Typically, these project weeks are for classes 5+, as a reasonable standard of English is definitely beneficial --- However, we have done quite a few weeks for Class 4 students in NMS & Gymnasium where we adapt the course a little to make it easier -- If this is something you are interested in for your Class 4 students, just get in touch and we can talk to you about the details - You can get in touch here: Contact us
  • Does my son/daughter need to be able to speak English already for these courses?
We currently have two age groups - 7-10 & 11-16 For the younger group, no previous English knowledge is necessary - Check the 'How exactly these courses work for learning English?' question below for details on this - For the older group, some basic understanding and knowledge of English is useful - Younger children can also join this group if they are native speakers, or have strong English for their age.
  • Does my son/daughter need to have any theatre experience?
Not at all! - Our theatre courses are a relaxed, freindly environment where all abilities can enjoy the classes.
  • How exactly do these courses work for learning English?
There are 3 ways the children are getting exposed to English during our Theatre Course - The first is being immersed in an English environment from the start with continual questions, instructions & direction from the teacher - Here children are picking up functional sets of language passively - Here is where weaker students develop their basic understanding and confidence to speak - (And stronger students learn to adapt quickly to more complex instructions) The second is having the opportunity to respond back in an natural, active environment - Asking questions, checking instructions & responding to the teachers remarks & conversation. Here is where stronger students have the chance to use their better language and develop their spoken skills more - There is constant two way communication, so lots of opportunity to use natural language, as well as practicing their performance. The third way is through the performance itself - Typically, a story is chosen, a simple script is developed for the children to perform, (based on their ideas) and this is adjusted to the relevant levels of the children - Stronger students can offer more to the performance, and weaker students have something they can work with (either individually or collectively) and get better - As the weeks go by, more and more ideas are added. The joy of our Theatre course is the fact that the learning is natural and immersive, tied in with learning a short script (reading skills), as well as the performance fun itself which builds confidence with the language.
  • My son/daughter is a native English speaker. Can they join these theatre courses?
Yes, it's no problem at all - For the younger group, they may find it a little simple, but you're more than welcome to try it. For the older group, we have a range of English, and native speakers!
  • What happens at the end of the course?
Your children will put on a performance of what they've learned during the course. You can see previous performances here: Past theatre performances
